I was so excited when my little parcel of new paints arrived on Sat. Amongst then I brought a paradise red. The quality and depth of colour is fantastic, but I'm so disappointed at the shade, it's more of a burgundy. Can anyone recommend a 'bright post box' red?

Snazaroo? Can't get much brighter than that. Although I'm surprised to hear about the paradise being so dark - is it Cherry Bomb that you ordered?

If you want a bright red from Paradise you need to get Beach Berry - the one they call "Red" is much more of a dark brick red - though not as dark when you use it as it looks in the pot. Snazaroo bright red is a good staple too though - especially if you are painting a lot of Spidermen!

I find the Beach Berry a little too orange for my liking - I have both so will compare the two tonight.

Beach berry is a bright light red. I find it more red than orange, good for spider man.

snaz red for base for me. If you were looking for something for more detailed work tag red is a lovely deep red(I only stumbled upon it as part of the jubilee split cake).

well I bet you guys know what i am going to say....LOL Kryolan 080. Been using it for spidey for over 25 years.... never let me down yet! Yes more expensive innitially than snaz.... but lasts 3 times as long....so cheaper in the long run....and red is always needed as a colour....so in use on every job.
