| I use latex or silicon pasties from Dauphines, a little more expense but they can be reused again and again..........or I know Simon ( Marshon) can make them cheaper, hopefully he'll pass through soon! |

If truth be told they ALL stick out like a sore thumb. Best bet is either to use shaped ones that fit in with the design (like shells or cog wheels or whatever).
As mel said silicone or latex are best for showing least, but they are harder to fit than the fabric self adhesive ones and they are a lot more expensive. |

I now prefer the sort of stiff fabric bra/ bikini insert things I get in HK.
The stick-on plaster ones I hate as they fall off or stick too much or get wrinkly and I can't glitter tatt over them as they glue themselves onto the nipple. The latex/silicone ones I don't like as they sort of 'shine' in flash photos.
I love the sculpted 3d foam latex ones like by Body F NZ but they are pricey (although some of mine I have used on 4 modeld and they are still going strong) but they don't always have the design to suit my ideas.
So look for the bikini inserts - some are padded, some aren't, some are hemmed.... I chop them up, paint them, glitter tatt them, glue them on (round the edges).... they cover most of the boob and in some cases if they match skin too well people have thought the boobs were bare!

I'm very proud of myself!
I've just made some latex nipple shields!
I was working with latex making a fin (like you do!!) and using glass to layer up the latex.
Then I realised I have a large glass paper weight. Just the same shape as a boob! -well more like a boob with silicon inserts! (Nothing like mine...)
So I painted the latex on to it and then added strips of kitchen roll which I cut up and laid on to look rather like a shell. Several more layers of latex and the use of a hair dryer for speedy drying and it was dry and finished.
I then powdered it, peeled it off the glass, powdered the other side and hey presto! Custom made pasties!
Big grin here! |

a bit like Papier Mashe then?
I have sometimes wondered if....depending on the design.... a whole boob covered is less obvious than just a nipple cover.... is this what you have ended up with Juliet? |

Glyn, you have a point (haha) I think that's why Cat now uses things like bikini inserts.
But actually the ones I made are around 2 and a half inches in diameter.
Perhaps I should make some larger ones as well. |

I've had a bit of a breakthrough on the latex moulding nipple/boob shields...
If you keep an eye out in the shops for when they are selling the new ecolocically friendly easter eggs... this is what i did
1 - buy a tray of 12 easter eggs - you can eat them while you're making the shields... you'll end up with 12 latex boob / nipple covers !
2 - buy a bottle of liquid latex from somewhere like Hobbycraft...for about a Tenner ...use the tray to mould the latex by layering on - takes quite a few layers (dont loose patience and just pour it in cause it doesnt work that way and takes weeks to dry ! )
3 - once dry and at the thickness you want you can pop out the moulded latex - and coat it in talc immediately... or they will stick together...
have a go - they dont look too bad - but make sure you choose the easter eggs with the right shape egg holder - some of them have a dip in them and would look like a real nipple even when you've covered them up !! lol
Hope that helps ...
Oh - just a thought - number 1 is optional - im sure any shop would be happy to let you have any plastic trays empty if you're shopping there - and would save a fortune at weight watchers / slimmers world afterwards ! ! |

You should make sure the liquid latex you buy is safe for use on the skin as these will be applied for use on the skin.
I had somebody ring me that had bought latex for use in flooring to use on their faces at halloween. Was horrified to say the least. Advised them not to use it and buy stuff from a proper theatrical makeup retailer. |
