Yes, one of the more niche topics here!
Due to my impending move to Nice I am trying to work out the best way to get my kit over with me, we aren't taking our car with us in the first instance and before we drive it over I have a booking in place.
Just wondering if anyone has taken their tall chair with them say to Austria or for any other competition abroad and if you had a rough idea of ease and costs. other wise I may look into posting it, thanks for any help x |

Hi
Our friend Hayley moved out to France from the UK just over 3 years ago and she regularly uses Trans Global to ship products over. They pick them up from your home address and usually deliver within 2 days. She says it is cheaper than a suitcase with Ryan Air. She also mentioned Parcel2Ship as well.
If you would like me to pass on her contact details, drop me a PM and I will pass them on to you.

| I'd stick it in the car and just organise seating at the last booking, it will probably get wrecked in the hold ! |

Mines been to Hong Kong & back several times a year since 2005, I stuff the big bag it came in with clothes etc. Still got dented once. Some airlines charge a fortune for it as excess/ oversize baggage (least actual charge I recall is £70) others let you class it as a snowboard etc and some let it go free as that whlst others don't. Depends - try and sweet-talk them & know in advance. When we re-emigrated to UK we shipped stuff which took ages but was easier/safer.
Is why I call my chair the most expensive in history:) Clients would still rather pay for it to travel than fora new 1 tho, wierd...
