|
|
| Hi Everyone, i'm booked in to do a 1950's themed evening and just wondered if anyone had any full face ideas. I've found several clip art bits which is good for cheek art but it's the faces i'm having a problem with. Would welcome any thoughts, thank you |

If its not too late & you've already done it, if it were me I would look into 1950s/60s or 40s Cartoon characters & work full face around those - things like Betty Boop, Mickey Mouse etc etc
Also look at Tiki Masks for inspiration & have a few tropical floral designs, Lillies with Hummingbird sort of thing & retro tattoo designs, anchors, tigers, dice etc etc - also look at 50s car & bike logos
I go to 1950s type things often & within reason anything retro pre 70s goes
but if its the sort of adult "do" I'm thinking of you'll probably find the bulk of it will be body art, rather than face paint & any FP will be less likely to be full face as the are generally "too cool"
hope that helps |

| You will run into copyright issues with Mickey Mouse etc. Disney don't like you doing them so better to steer clear. |

Are they that hot onto copyright even with Face Painting
I'll bare that one in mind myself I know Disney et al can be litigation happy with everything else, been there, done that - but still shocked at something as throw away as Face Painting, especially when I've seen Mickey done often - you'd think they'd see it as advertising |

Unfortunately they don't see it as advertising and they are hot on it, but can you blame them when there are many poor face painters out there that would produce a poorly done face paint.
A lot of people don't realise and will paint these images along with football club logos who are another group that really don't like their images being painted. |
